Congratulations to Joon Young, whose results were recently published in [Nature Materials](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41563-024-02079-5)! In this work, Joon Young and colleagues ingeniously grew topological insulators via molecular beam epitaxy by using graphene or hBN as as a substrate. This allowed them to perform magneto-tunneling spectroscopy on topological surface states. These results show a path forward for the fabrication of novel van der Waals heterostrucutres, promising to unveil new physics and devices.

Take a look at the [News and Views](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41563-025-02131-y) highlighting this work as well.
